The walk for health is a non-competitive walk supporting the Foundation for Community and Family Healths commitment to fight cancer through early detection and education. The proceeds from the walk go directly to the Health Detection fund which pays for breast cancer screenings and treatment for women 18-39 that would otherwise have to pay for it out of their own pocket. There are no government programs to cover this age group for these problems and even some insurance companies won't cover the screenings if you are under 40.
I am looking for people to walk on my team or to help with donations for this event. It is held in Corona, Ca. If you would like more info you can go to
www.ourlocalfight.org or just message me.
The Foundation paid for my ultrasounds and all screenings of the lump I found, without them I would have had to pay out of my pocket and I just don't have that kind of money. Along with the treatment they gave me a wonderful support net with a caring group of women that really helped me through the emotional parts. And i came out of it with great new friends. I do this walk every year to attempt in some small way to pay them back for everything they've done for me. Please join me to help raise funds to save the life of a mother, daughter, sister, wife or friend.
